The WHO Great Iowa Tractor Ride is coming to Baxter!!

We are excited to host the riders on Monday, June 16th for lunch at the school. Find a spot along the route and see the tractors drive into town! The riders will arrive to town in shifts between 10:45 and 12:45.

The 97th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference was a success! 16 students traveled to Ames to participate in workshops, watch general sessions, take College of Agriculture and Life Science tours, and compete in contests.

Chapter Exhibit received a silver rating. It was completed by Addison Kerwin, Kamdyn Krampe, Kaylyn Krampe, Taylor Cross and Melodie Smith.

Knowledge Tests:

Masyn Titus - Bronze rating
Mallory Bottorff - Bronze rating

Klaire Shanks, Alyvia Burdess, and Rilyn Titus served as courtesy corps during the convention.

2025 Progressive Agriculture Safety Day

Thank you so much to all our of FFA members and parents, Hog Heaven, Central Iowa Seeds, the Clear Creek Wranglers 4-H club, Iowa Corn and Jasper County Extension Office for your help in supporting our Progressive Agriculture Safety Day!

All of our elementary students were able to learn about being safe around farm animals, equipment, grains, chemicals, and ATV’s!

Congratulations to Luci Kucera who received a gold rating today at sub-districts! ⭐️ Luci competed in public speaking and was also picked as an alternate to advance to districts.

Although weather made us postpone two big events, we still had a great time celebrating National FFA Week!!

We started the week by serving breakfast to our school staff and ended with a visit from state and district FFA officers! The officers led our students through leadership, communication, career, and advocacy activities all day long!

Thanks to everyone who participated in our dress up days and helped us celebrate FFA! 💙💛

National Convention Day 3 & 4

We attended two convention sessions, listened to great key note speakers, a retiring national officer address, attended student workshops, explored the career and college expo center, went go kart racing and mini golfing! So much fun was had by all!! Another great trip in the books!

National Convention Day Two!

We started our day at Beasley’s Orchard where we learned about their specialty crop production and sustainable farming methods! Students even got to pick their own apples! We arrived to Indianapolis and ended the night with the rodeo!

National FFA Convention Day 1

Did you know reindeer grow their antlers in just three months?!

Our students got to explore the Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch yesterday! We tackled a 10 acre corn maze, learned about reindeer, fed them snacks, and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over a bonfire! Day one was a success!
