Meet our Greenhouse Intern, Sergio!
Sergio joined our team earlier this year through the CAEP Program to learn alongside our team and gain valuable experience for his future in agriculture.
During his time on our farm, he has taken on many of our day-to-day greenhouse responsibilities, including nurturing and hand-harvesting edible flowers, leaves and cucumbers. He has also been hands-on in preparing soil and greenhouse spaces for new crops.
Sergio has learned not only about the wide variety of products we grow and how to care for them, but also about the importance of teamwork and problem-solving. He shared that working closely with our greenhouse team has helped him grow significantly, especially in developing the skills to guide others and provide solutions to problems when needed.
A strong advocate for agriculture, Sergio hopes to see more young people entering the industry. He is thankful for everyone who has shared their knowledge and experience with him, helping him become better at what he’s working toward.
Back home in Colombia, Sergio studies Agricultural Systems at university. He plans to continue his education and earn his Master’s degree when he returns, with the goal of one day running his own permaculture system.
We’re grateful to have Sergio as part of our intern team and excited to see where his passion for agriculture takes him!
