We are a Clark County WA and adjacent homeschool community, prioritizing disease mitigation indefinitely. We center those who are:
- medically vulnerable
- seeking to avoid exposure to illness
- willing to help create a safe space for other families
MASKING
We require masking at all gatherings, without exception. We recognize that social distancing and free play don’t usually go together, and num
erous other homeschool groups exist for unmasked outings. Masks should be well-fitting and worn above the nose and under the chin, except for those elastomeric masks designed to rest on the chin rather than below. Parents are responsible for ensuring proper mask-wearing and may be asked to help their child adjust their mask as needed. TYPES OF MASKS
Masks must be of minimum KN95/KF94/FFP2 standard. Masks must include source control, i.e. no exhaust valve. VACCINATION
Vaccinations help protect us from a great number of diseases, not just COVID. Adults and children who are eligible should be vaccinated for COVID. All members of the household should be vaccinated for "common childhood illnesses" including measles, chickenpox, and pertussis as they are old enough to be eligible. EATING AND DRINKING
When gathering indoors, masks may not be removed. If you need to remove your mask, please step outside and stay at least 10 feet away from any group members. When outdoors, for purposes of eating and drinking or mask adjustment, families should create as much distance as possible from the group, with a minimum of 10 feet away from other group members. WHEN TO AVOID IN-PERSON GATHERINGS
When families are experiencing signs of illness, families should wait 48 hours from the end of symptoms before rejoining the group. Symptoms include:
- Fever over 100.4
- Diarrhea or vomiting
- Cough
- Congestion
- Rash
- Drainage from eyes or ears
- Sore throat
- IF you have tested positive for COVID please have 2 negative tests within 48 hours before you rejoin the group. If symptoms are consistent with a known noncommunicable issue and are not a change in the person's typical medical status, then they do not need to isolate from group activities. However, if symptoms change or worsen outside of that person's norm, then we ask that they not attend group activities until verifying that the new symptoms are due to a noncommunicable issue. We thank Masked Secular Homeschoolers of Rochester for sharing their Disease Mitigation Guidelines with us, which helped form the basis of our policy. Looking for a community of masked homeschoolers?
