Today was a half day at BC STEM, which meant our 6th Grade Innovators had to miss their weekly adventure to the Outdoor Education Center (OEC). 😢

🌳 What is the OEC? Did you know every Friday, our 6th graders head to the Outdoor Education Center right here in Battle Creek for hands-on learning in nature! From exploring ecosystems and observing wildlife to investigating the environment, our Innovators get to take science beyond the classroom and experience real-world learning firsthand. 🌱🦋🔎

While we missed our outdoor adventure today, there are always more opportunities to explore, discover, and innovate at BC STEM! 💙

📅 REMINDER: No school Monday, October 12! Enjoy the long weekend, Bearcats, and we’ll see everyone back on Tuesday!

The challenge was simple: the House with the highest attendance on Count Day would get to silly string the principal…

What we didn’t anticipate was our BC STEM Bearcats showing up and showing OUT with a school-wide 98% attendance rate! 🐾💙

And because FIVE Houses had 100% attendance, we decided we couldn’t possibly pick just one winner. No tiebreakers. No arguments. 😂 All five classes got to SILLY STRING THE PRINCIPAL!

Let’s just say… the Bearcats took that opportunity VERY seriously. 🤣

Ms. Coder endured 100+ cans of silly string for the love of the game and honestly, every single smile made it worth it. 💙

Ms. Bates’s Coding students are designing their own apps to solve real-world problems while learning about inputs and outputs.

Some of these ideas are pretty great… and we may need early access to the “remembering things” app 😂👀

Wear your favorite pajamas and show up ready to help your class win our Principal's Challenge!

The class with the highest attendance percentage
gets to SILLY STRING MS. CODER!

Count Day is important because EVERY student matters.

Attendance on Count Day helps determine state funding that supports our school, including programs, staff, technology, classroom resources, and opportunities for students.

So grab your comfiest PJs and we'll see you
WEDNESDAY for COUNT DAY (and of course all the days in between).

This week is our last home game. We would love to send our 8th graders out with love. We will be having Parents Night. Where the PARENTS get recognized as they walk their players out and be celebrated for all their dedication to making sure their student not only shows up on the field, but also shows up in the classroom.. We would also love to feed the team after the game.. October 7th. Let's make this an epic ending , and memorable beginnings to their new paths.
