On Saturday, SGT Troy Gilleylen, Battle Creek Police Department, and Oscar Neto, EL and World Languages Coordinator for Battle Creek Public School spoke to Adult Education students and extended Uwezo Swahili Community.

Sgt. Troy Gilleylen's presentation covered such topics as the responsibilities of driving a vehicle, what to do in the event of a traffic stop, the consequences of drinking and driving, using 911, and how and when to report an accident.

Oscar Neto talked to the BCPS parents about services for their English learners, school flow charts for kindergarten - 12th grade, and attendance policies. He also introduced the participants to Parent University.

Battle Creek Public Schools and the Battle Creek Area Math and Science Center will be closed tomorrow (2/3/22) due to weather conditions.

With the rest of the district closed tomorrow, virtual learners will get a snow day as well.
