October is College and Career month and LHS students got the chance to kick off the month’s celebration in a big way last week!
On Tuesday, 10th-12th grade students got a chance to talk with representatives from colleges/universities, military, trade schools, and a variety of different career fields right here at school.
On Thursday, students interested in manufacturing, engineering, and related technical schooling had the chance to participate in Battle Creek’s Youth Manufacturing Day. Students visited the Regional Manufacturing Technology Center, which is Kellogg Community College’s (KCC) Industrial Trades and Workforce Solutions campus. Students were also offered the opportunity to tour Denso, a local automotive manufacturing company.

Lakeview High School DECA students from Entrepreneurship, Advanced Marketing, and Retail Management work together every year to design and promote the official Lakeview HOCO T-Shirt. This opportunity gives our business students real-world experience with project-based learning. It is an authentic application of various business skills that allows students to raise money for Lakeview DECA students. Through ventures such as this one, students are able to greatly reduce costs and increase opportunities for students to compete and have experiences that will benefit them in the real world.
