Please see the Updated Masking information shared out with families in Lakeview. Our program follows the guidance of the local district so we will follow suit. Teachers will be discussing this change with our students tomorrow.
As many of you have become aware, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has issued updated guidance on masking in indoor places. Based on current conditions, MDHHS is expiring the Public Health Advisory on Masking in Indoor Public Settings, including school settings. After consulting with Calhoun County Public Health Department (CCPHD), Lakeview will amend its mask guidelines to reflect this recommendation. Starting tomorrow, Thursday, February 17, with the support of CCPHD, masks will be optional in all Lakeview buildings.
Masks are still required on school buses per federal guidelines.
These changes are part of a tiered approach to current conditions and individuals should make decisions on masking based on their personal circumstances and needs.
We will continue to work closely with the CCPHD to monitor changing conditions and act accordingly. We appreciate your ongoing support as we work to keep our schools and community safe.
