This week, we celebrate Ms. Kristin Baldridge, chair of our Enrichment Department and a teacher of Computer, Digital Design, Multimedia, and Healthy Habits!

Ms. Baldridge was chosen for embodying the theological virtue of faith. Her prayerful spirit and deep trust in God are evident in the way she serves our students and our STM community each day.

And there’s an extra special connection — Ms. Baldridge is an STM alumna from the Class of 2000!

🌎👩‍🍳 A Taste of Colombia in Baking Class! 🇨🇴🫓

Ms. Fandiño's 7th grade Baking students are taking their culinary adventures around the world! As part of their exploration of foods from different cultures, students recently learned how to make Colombian arepas, and they absolutely loved getting hands-on in the kitchen. 👏

From learning about new foods and traditions to experiencing culture through cooking, our Baking class is showing students that learning can happen far beyond the classroom and even beyond the language! ❤️

And according to Fr. Eddie, these weren’t just arepas… they were “Goodrepas!” 😂🙌

We love seeing our Eagles learning, creating, and enjoying a taste of the world right here at STM! 🦅💙💛

Our 8th graders spent their retreat reflecting on Crossroads and the importance of keeping their eyes on Christ as they navigate the decisions and paths that lie ahead.

Through personal “road maps” of their lives, letters to their future selves, and artwork depicting the obstacles they face and the paths they can take to overcome them, students were given time to reflect, pray, and look toward the future with faith.

The day also included a fun-filled campus scavenger hunt that brought plenty of laughter and strengthened their bonds as a class. But the retreat ended with its most powerful moment: an hour of Adoration and Benediction before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament—the One who guides us and leads us safely to God. ❤️‍🔥

May our 8th graders always remember that no matter which crossroads they encounter, Christ is the way forward.

Our 3rd graders stepped back in time for Colonial Day! 🕯️📜

Students experienced what life was like in Colonial America as they learned to churn butter from cream, make candles from beeswax, and wash clothes by hand using a washboard. They even experienced a day in a traditional dame school.

The day was filled with hands-on activities, including having their silhouettes made, trying their hand at stenciling and calligraphy, and making dolls from corn husks. Of course, Colonial children knew how to have fun, too! Our students played old-fashioned games like marbles, jump rope, jacks, and bilboquet.

It was a fun and memorable day of learning for our Eagles! 🦅💙💛

You can always count on this teacher. She knows how to multiply the fun in learning. She has lots of problems but is always positive. And her teaching adds up to something meaningful. She challenges each and every one of her students. She is a master math teacher!

🏈💙💛 Mother & Son Tailgate is back! 🦅

Calling all STM boys in grades K–8 and their moms (or grandmothers, godmothers, aunts, or other special female role model)! Join us for an afternoon of food, fun, games, and memory-making on Saturday, September 19, from 1–3 p.m. on the STM athletic field and in the school gym.

🍽️ Come hungry! The STM Men’s Club is serving up jambalaya, pulled pork nachos, and plenty of special treats and snacks.

🎯 Outside, enjoy the big games and inflatables our Mother & Son Tailgate is known for. Inside the gym, we’ll have BINGO, prizes, and even more games and activities for everyone to enjoy!

💙 Cost: $45 per couple + $10 for each additional male child.

🙋‍♂️ We Need Volunteers!

It takes lots of helping hands to make Mother & Son Tailgate a success. We need adult volunteers so that all of our Moms can enjoy the afternoon with their sons! Dads, we’re looking at you! 😉 This is your chance to lend a hand while Mom enjoys some special time with your STM Eagle.

Adult volunteers must be child protection certified. Teens are also welcome to help with setup, takedown, and the sign-in table, but adults are required to supervise children during the event.

Sign up for a specific volunteer need at stmbr.org/tgvol and help us make this year’s Tailgate one to remember!

Due to safety and liability coverage, we cannot allow any other children or siblings, younger or older, not enrolled at STM, to attend the Mother & Son Tailgate. Only boys enrolled in Kindergarten through 8th grade at STM may be present.

Mass Schedule Change

Beginning September 14, our weekly 12:00 p.m. Friday Mass will move to Monday at 12:00 p.m.

This schedule will remain in place outside of Lent.

During Lent, we will have Friday Mass at 6:00 p.m. instead, with no Monday noon Mass.

Please note: Any Mass intentions previously scheduled for a Friday noon Mass will be moved to the Monday noon Mass that same week.
