Baton Rouge Area Electrical JATC

An apprenticeship and training facility that has been training individuals in electrical construction and maintenance in the residential, commercial and industrial fields. The Baton Rouge Area Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee (BREJATC) was created nearly 75 years ago as a joint training program between the Baton Rouge Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (

NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 995, aimed at training the best electrical workers the industry has to offer. The BREJATC is part of the largest apprenticeship and training organization of its kind in the United States, the Electrical Training Alliance (ETA), which has trained over 350,000 apprentices to journey worker status through local affiliate programs throughout the country. Over the years, we have continually trained the best electricians in the industry without cost to the taxpayers. Not only does this allow students to earn an income while in school, it also creates new tax revenue for the economy. Each year, participants in our program pay thousands of dollars in taxes to support our community. This is truly a model program as it takes little to nothing from the taxpayers while training some of the most productive workers in the world who contribute to our economy and the electrical industry.
