On April 16th, Cailee Brock, Braylen Brown, Sailor Forest, Romon Mitchell, A'Zyriah Spears, and Patience Tolbert proudly represented East Baton Rouge Parish Schools at the 2026 Magnet Schools of America Conference—one of only two schools in the nation selected to present.

During the conference, the students earned national acclaim for their outstanding presentation, “Survival by Design: Using Project-Based Learning to Integrate Engineering and ELA.” Through creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, the team redesigned the Secret Annex from The Diary of a Young Girl as part of an innovative engineering-based learning experience.

Upon their return, the students were formally recognized by Councilman Anthony Kenney at City Hall and were also honored at last night’s school board meeting for their exceptional achievement and for representing the district with excellence on a national stage.

We are incredibly proud of SPEMA's "San Diego Six" for demonstrating the power of innovation, leadership, and academic excellence.

With over 22 years of experience in education, Mr. Bradford brings a wealth of knowledge in instructional leadership, school improvement, and student achievement. Throughout his career, he has served in various roles dedicated to fostering academic excellence, strengthening school culture, and supporting both teachers and students in reaching their highest potential.
Mr. Bradford has a strong commitment to STEM education and college and career readiness. He is passionate about advancing our pre-engineering and magnet programs while ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for all scholars. His leadership philosophy centers on collaboration, accountability, and building strong partnerships with families and the community.
He believes that student success is achieved when schools and families work together, and he looks forward to engaging with parents, staff, and community stakeholders to continue the tradition of excellence at Scotlandville Pre-Engineering Magnet Academy.
