Last week, our chapter had an incredible experience at the Louisiana FFA State Convention!
Throughout the week, our students took advantage of countless opportunities to learn, grow, and connect. Members proudly served as voting delegates, attended leadership workshops, explored the expo, and networked with FFA members from across the state. Along the way, they reunited with old friends, made new connections, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Several of our students were selected to compete in a trivia contest, while others participated in chapter challenges that encouraged teamwork, leadership, and creativity. Our members also decorated clothespins featuring hand-drawn braille and signs to help spread awareness about our chapter and promote inclusion.
While the activities and competitions were exciting, the most valuable takeaway was the inspiration our students brought home. They left the convention motivated, energized, and excited for the upcoming school year, ready to apply what they learned and continue growing as leaders.
We are so proud of the way our members represented our chapter throughout the week and look forward to all they will accomplish this year!๐๐

Every child deserves a place where they feel seen, understood, and connected.
Researcher John Hattie found that students' sense of belonging and strong student-teacher relationships have a significant impact on learning and achievement. At the Louisiana School for the Deaf, those connections happen naturally through direct communication, shared language, and a community where deaf students don't have to work to be understood.
When students can communicate directly with their teachers and peers, they are free to focus on learning, building friendships, developing confidence, and discovering who they are.
If you're looking for a school where your child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, we'd love to show you what makes L*D special. Schedule a tour and experience our community for yourself! ๐ฆ

Yesterday, our seniors graduated from the Louisiana School for the Deaf. ๐๐
Before graduation, we asked them one question: โWhat will you miss most about L*D?โ
Their answers were about friendships, dorm life, sports, memories, teachers and staff, support, opportunities, and finally feeling at home.
At L*D, our students donโt just attend school - they build community, confidence, language, and lifelong connections.
We are so proud of the Class of 2026 and are so thankful to have been part of their journey.
Once a War Eagle, always a War Eagle. ๐ฆ
