Services include various diagnostic and treatment options for individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. Services are provided by graduate students under direct supervision of faculty members. All professional clinical faculty are licensed by the Louisiana Board of Examiners in Speech Pathology and Audiology and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Ass

Fluency Disorders
Rehabilitation of the laryngectomized patient
Neurological damage or disease (stroke, TBI)
Voice disorders
Accent Reduction Training
Aural Rehabilitation for the Hearing Impaired
Pediatric Feeding Disorders
Swallowing Disorders

Comprehensive Audiometric Evaluations (pediatric and adult)
Hearing Aid Evaluation/Fitting (adult)
The LSU Speech, Language, Hearing clinic offers comprehensive audiological evaluations to the community, students, and faculty. LSU First Insurance, currently pays $2400 per ear for hearing aids every 3 years.

LSU COMD’s very own Dr. Oetting and Dr. Hyunju Chung co-authored a chapter in The Oxford Handbook of Speech Development in Languages of the World on Cajun English. The 80 chapters describe children’s speech development in 49 languages (plus 26 dialects across six languages) to celebrate, respect, and preserve the uniqueness and integrity of all languages and dialects.
