We are excited to spotlight Andy Barth, Co-Founder & CEO of The Care Connexion! 🩺✨

Andy Barth didn’t start The Care Connexion with just a theory; he built it from 7 years of firsthand experience in home health staffing. After seeing how middleman delays, high costs, and administrative burdens pulled providers away from patient care, Andy and his co-founder created a direct platform to fix a broken system. 🛠️

Much like rideshare platforms transformed transportation, The Care Connexion directly bridges the gap between home health agencies and therapists:

🔹 For Home Health Agencies: 24/7 direct access to a vetted network of qualified therapists, complete case visibility from admission to discharge, and real-time updates.

🔹 For Therapists: Total schedule flexibility, streamlined case documentation, automated invoicing, and guaranteed twice-monthly direct deposits. 💸

To accelerate their growth, Andy partnered with the LSBDC at LSU Innovation Park for strategic business coaching and joined our EDA Bridge Program—an initiative sponsored by the Economic Development Administration to help high-growth tech startups hit the market. 📈

💬 “The EDA Bridge Program gave us the roadmap to rebuild our entire operation,” said Barth. “They didn’t just hand us a finished product; they empowered us to build it ourselves, and that’s been the real key to our success.”

Founded right here in Baton Rouge, The Care Connexion is already gaining major momentum! 🚀

📍 Working with 20+ agencies across California

📍 Expanding into Texas

📍 Successfully raised a seed round to scale their tech

Join us in celebrating Andy and The Care Connexion team as they build a more efficient, transparent, and clinician-friendly future for home healthcare! 👏

For individuals recovering from a stroke or spinal cord injury, regaining physical independence is a long, uphill battle. EMGwear, a startup from the LSU innovation ecosystem, is changing that reality with new technology designed to help patients rebuild mobility faster and improve their quality of life.

Designing medical tools is a complex process, which is why the EMGwear team joined our Southwest I-Corps regional cohort to ensure their solution fits seamlessly into busy hospital workflows and lowers long-term healthcare costs.

⚡Rather than assuming they had all the answers, the EMGwear team is interviewing real people across the healthcare system, including physical therapists, doctors, caregivers, and hospital administrators.

By listening directly to the medical community, they are building a strong business foundation to bring their life-changing technology out of the lab and into the clinics where it is needed most.

We are so happy to support them as they work to advance the standard of rehabilitation care! 🌎💡

Today, we are happy to spotlight two incredible LSU student interns who are making a meaningful impact and discovering their professional passions right here in our ecosystem.

While we are highlighting these two individuals today, we want to express our deep appreciation for ALL the LSU interns working at The Emerge Center. Their collective dedication, energy, and hard work shape a brighter future for our community every single day. ❤️

Please join us in celebrating Amari and Daya as they share what their internship experiences have meant for their personal and career growth:

👥 Amari | Discovering a Passion for HR
“Being at Emerge has helped me grow both personally and professionally by strengthening my communication, patience, and time management skills. What started as simply applying for an internship turned into discovering a passion for HR that I could see myself pursuing long-term. Through both the good and challenging days, I’ve learned that no matter the roadblocks, you can still overcome them and succeed. I also want to give a special thank you to Kenya for all of her support throughout this journey—she truly made this experience a great one.”

🧠 Daya | Connecting Classroom Psychology to Real-World Care
“My internship has given me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and practice the core care principles highlighted in my psychology studies. I love working as a technician at Emerge because I always walk in and out feeling so glad to be a part of this team. Working with the kids has unlocked a new mindset for me and brought so much light and positivity into my life.”

We are thrilled to support these students as they bridge the gap between academic theory and professional ex*****on. Thank you to all of our outstanding interns for making the LSU community proud! 👏🌟

Building the Future of Louisiana’s Oyster Industry! 🦪🌊

We are proud to highlight LSU Innovation Park tenant , a company merging deep coastal tradition with cutting-edge AgTech!

Founded by Dr. Steve Po***ck, Triple N Oyster Farm specializes in supplying pure, Louisiana-bred “triploid” seed oysters locally dubbed Coco-dips. Because these oysters are sterile, they do not expend energy on seasonal spawning. Instead, they remain consistently fat, sweet, and meaty all year long, even during the hot summer months! ☀️

Raised in advanced floating bags just north of Grand Isle, the constant rocking action of the waves naturally tumbles them to create a beautifully clean shell and a deep cup.

Fueled by Non-Dilutive Innovation Grants 🚀
Triple N’s revolutionary approach to sustainable aquaculture and coastal restoration is backed by major competitive state and federal funding:
✨ USDA SBIR Awards: Over $105,000 for Phase I and a massive $600,000 for Phase II to scale their off-bottom aquaculture techniques.
✨ LDWF & NOAA Grant: A recent $1 million award dedicated to boosting local fish populations and supporting our marine ecosystem.

We love seeing our tenants leverage scientific research and federal programs to drive economic growth, sustainability, and world-class seafood right here in Louisiana!
