LSU Professor of Art History Darius Spieth edited the newly published Grove Art Guide to the Art Market, a comprehensive exploration of the institutions, practices and economic forces that shape the global art world.

Published by Oxford University Press in 2026, the volume brings together 69 essays examining the art market from its historical foundations through developments in the 21st century.

LSU School of Art faculty member Darius A. Spieth presented at the RAM-T International Workshop #11, “Circulations: Works, Artists, and Ideas in the Art Market,” held May 21–23 at the Faculté des Lettres et Sciences Humaines, Cadi Ayyad University, Marrakech, Morocco.

The workshop brought together art market researchers from institutions across Europe, North Africa, and beyond to examine questions of circulation — how works, artists, and ideas move through the art market across time and place.
