Happy 4th of July from the Art Guild of Louisiana!

Today, we celebrate 250 years of American independence and the enduring freedom to imagine, create, speak in our own voices, and share beauty with one another.

At the Art Guild, we paint in different styles, work in different mediums, and see the world from different points of view. Yet we come together around something worth celebrating: respect for one another, a belief that art enriches our community, connects us across differences, and helps make life more beautiful.

In our own small way, that is part of the ongoing pursuit of “a more perfect union.”

Here’s to freedom, friendship, creative expression, and the next 250 years of American stories still waiting to be painted.

Happy Independence Day, everyone!

Here are a few in-progress photos from the transformation happening at Studio in the Park!

After a month of hard work, we are thrilled to reopen on Tuesday, July 7, and the space is already looking amazing.

Fresh paint. Beautiful new floors. A brighter, cleaner, more inspiring home for artists to gather, learn, create, and connect.

We had to pause regular activities during June to make these improvements happen, but it has absolutely been worth it. There is still more to come, but seeing the progress has us incredibly excited for what this space will become.

The Art Guild of Louisiana is going to be better than ever, and Studio in the Park is becoming the creative home our members deserve. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back!

At the Art Guild of Louisiana Judged show 1st Honorable Mention went to Donna Kilbourne for "Mule Wagon". The judge said: The oil painting immediately captured my attention with its bright, sunny atmosphere and excellent use of light. The loose use of brushstrokes adds to the painting.
