Congratulations to Anya Trutschl from Caddo Parish Magnet High School on placing in the Louisiana: Mapped StoryMap Competition, High School Division!

Anya earned a $100 award and statewide recognition for her entry, built using ArcGIS StoryMaps, powered by Esri. The GGI team made the trip to Shreveport to present the award in person and it was a moment worth every mile.

Caddo Parish Magnet is one of Louisiana's most decorated academic institutions, and Anya's work in this competition is a perfect reflection of the caliber of student that school produces. We are proud to have played a role in her journey.

Congratulations to Jack Dangermond, founder and president of Esri, on being named to the Forbes 250: America's Greatest Innovators.

For those who may not know the name, Jack Dangermond is the reason GIS technology exists in the form it does today. Since founding Esri in 1969, he has built the world's leading geographic information system platform, one that is now used by hundreds of thousands of organizations across the globe, from governments and nonprofits to schools and environmental agencies.

At GGI, we use Esri tools every single day. ArcGIS StoryMaps, ArcGIS Online, National Geographic MapMaker all exist because of Jack Dangermond's vision.

This recognition is well deserved. Congratulations, Jack.

Water infrastructure. GIS technology. Augmented reality in the field. AI powered leak detection. The sessions were a look at where geospatial tools and water systems are headed and we were glad to be in the room.

Global Geospatial Institute is proud to congratulate Rubi Johnson, a student at Elton High School in Elton, Louisiana, for placing in the Louisiana: Mapped StoryMap Competition, High School Division.

Rubi's entry was built using ArcGIS StoryMaps, powered by Esri, earning her a $100 award and statewide recognition.

The GGI team traveled to Elton High School to present the award in person, joined by school faculty and staff who were on hand to celebrate alongside her.

We were pleased to welcome two Park Forest Middle School students Christopher Torres and Dillon Boutte to GGI headquarters this week to receive their awards for placing in the Louisiana: Mapped StoryMap Competition, Middle School Division. Each student was accompanied by a family member for the presentation, a detail that speaks to the community of support behind every student achievement.

These two students demonstrated both collaborative and technical tool skills and placed among the best in Louisiana doing it. Congratulations, Christopher and Dillon.
