The Global Geospatial Institute (GGI) team offers spatial education though state-of-the-art technology.

We strive to put Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) technology in the hands of as many students as we can.

Two years of hard work. One powerful presentation.

During our recent National Academies of Sciences GIS Teacher Professional Development, students from the Life of Litter program stepped up and presented a two-year compilation of everything they have accomplished through this project.

Using ArcGIS StoryMaps, powered by Esri, these young people did not just show up. They showed out. They walked a room full of educators through their litter data collection, field work, and environmental analysis, all built and told through geospatial technology.

To our partners, thank you for believing in this work from the start. To the teachers, thank you for creating space in your classrooms for this kind of learning. Students you are the reason this program exists, and you proved exactly why it matters.

The Life of Litter is more than a project. It is a movement, and our community is better for it.

Two days. Dozens of dedicated educators. One unforgettable Professional Development Workshop.

We just wrapped up our GIS Teacher Professional Development at Goodwood Library. Teachers showed up ready to learn, engage, and take geospatial tools back to their classrooms and we even had a private school principal in the mix.

None of this happens without the commitment of our team and the incredible support of our partners at Goodwood Library. We are grateful for every person who walked through those doors.

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned.

A New Operating System For The Whole World 05/21/2026

Maps used to show us where things were. Today, they help us understand what’s happening, why it matters, and where to take action.

In this recent Forbes article, Jack Dangermond shares how modern, AI-enabled mapping systems are transforming decision-making across industries — from education and workforce development to environmental stewardship and community resilience.

At Global Geospatial Institute (GGI), this vision is exactly why we have dedicated our nonprofit to expanding access to Esri ArcGIS for K–12 students, teachers, and lifelong learners. Through hands-on learning with GIS, drones, StoryMaps, dashboards, and real-world data, we are helping learners build the skills needed to understand and shape the world around them.

The future belongs to those who can turn data into insight — and insight into action. 🌎🗺️✨

A New Operating System For The Whole World For 4,000 years mapping showed us the world from a new point of view. Modern AI enabled maps are now running the world.
