We are so thankful to First Tuesday, ExxonMobil Baton Rouge, Turner Industries, Lamar Advertising, and numerous community partners and incredible volunteers who spent their day giving our school a fresh new look.

They painted classrooms and hallways, pressure washed the playground equipment, cleaned, prepped, and tackled projects from morning until afternoon. By the end of the day, our campus looked completely transformed.

Thank you for showing up, rolling up your sleeves, and helping create a space our students, families, and staff are proud to call home.

First Tuesday Needs 200 Volunteers for One of Its Biggest Service Projects Yet

If you’ve been looking for a way to give back to the Baton Rouge community, here’s your chance.

On Tuesday, July 7, First Tuesday is bringing together volunteers for what organizers say could become one of the largest service projects in the organization’s history. Their goal is to recruit 200 volunteers to serve at The Emerge School for Autism, where teams will spend the day refreshing classrooms, improving campus facilities, and creating a more welcoming environment for students.

The work goes beyond painting walls and sprucing up buildings. Every project is designed to help local nonprofits focus more of their time and resources on the people they serve, while giving volunteers the opportunity to work alongside neighbors, local businesses, and community members who want to make a lasting difference.

Whether you’re signing up as an individual, bringing your family, or organizing a team from your workplace, this is a chance to leave a positive mark on a school that helps children learn, grow, and thrive every day.

Volunteer registration is now open (link in comments), and organizers encourage anyone interested to sign up early as they work toward their goal of 200 volunteers for this community-wide day of service.
