Good evening Bucs of 1977. Your reunion committee met again tonight to further along plans for a rather informal 2 night reunion.
At this time, we have plans for the weekend of September 9 & 10 for us to gather together.

First, there’ll be a Friday night dinner party at “The Pastime” restaurant, just like we did 5 years ago. If you can and want to make there that night, come on out.

A second night is still up for discussion at this point.

Fellow classmates, your ‘77 classmate reunion committee has taken a look at 2 dates in September now for a 45th reunion.

A) September 2/3

B)September 9/10

The first choice, it is Labor Day weekend, meaning a 4 day holiday. The LSU football game will be on Sunday evening in New Orleans, if anyone is interested in going.

The 2nd choice the LSU vs Southern U game is that Saturday night. Not much to say about that.

Our thoughts, at this time, are to have a Friday night gathering at Pastime Pizza, much like 5 years ago. Then on Saturday night, have a gathering somewhere with dining available, drinks, & music such as a live band. Two venues in mind are at LauBerge Casino Resort and the other is LA Daquiri.

We are trying to hold planning and expenses down for everyone this time then plan an epic 50th reunion in 5 more years.

Please take the time to give us your input ASAP so that we have an idea in which to head to plan.

Stopped in at Heads & Tails Seafood tonight for some boiled crawfish.

Michael Cashio has been boiling them for 40 years now! Great to see a fellow Buccaneer enjoying life and doing it the right way!

And damn the crawfish were so good!

Hey fellow Buccaneers! Hoping that you all had a very merry Christmas and wishing you a happy New Year in the days ahead.

We, the Broadmoor’77 reunion committee, met this evening as group to take advantage of opening discussions about a 45th reunion next summer!

Nothing firm at all yet, but we are kind of focused on June 11, 2022. We are planning another meeting in approximately 2 months in addition to communication between now and then.

🤗Happy 43rd anniversary to the class of Broadmoor High ‘77 Buccaneers!

😲Wow, it’s been 43 years now since we left BHS!

😀Hopefully, everyone is doing fine now. It’s truly a different time in our lives now. We are finding new ways to stay healthy and also finding new times celebrating grandkids in our lives!

🤗We met this afternoon to plant a memorial shumard oak tree in memory of Robert Kuyrkendall.
😪Bob unexpectedly passed in June. We honored our friend & leader today along with his wife, Leslie, & their family.
Suzy Henderson-Nauck, Regina Lewis Poole, Cindy Boudreaux Dantin, Jeff Chatelain, Mike & Lisa Kenaley, Leslie Kuyrkendall all attended.

😃A very special prayer was sent from Glenn Fritchie & read to everyone...

🙏🏻 Father God, we thank you for the many blessings you’ve given us. Among the most precious is your son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

We are so thankful for Bob, a faithful husband, father, and friend to so many. He lived according to your word and glorified You in this world. We stand here today to Celebrate a life well lived.

We re-affirm our faith through Your Word that we will see him again as John 3:16 assures us.

✝️ There will a celebration of life services for Robert “Boob” Kuyrkendall this Saturday.

⛪️Visitation will be from 2-3pm with a service at 3pm at Broadmoor Presbyterian church on Florida Blvd, Saturday, July 13th.

😌Robert & Leslie have been the major leaders of keeping our class together through organization of our reunions through the last 32 years. The reunion committee hopes to see as many classmates there to support Leslie and her family in this sorrowful time.

😪Fellow Buccaneers, please say a prayer for our close friends, Bob & Leslie Kuyrkendall. Bob’s health has gone down drastically over the last month & taken a severe turn today.
🙏🏻Please keep them both and their family in your prayers that Bob does not suffer further and for Leslie to find strength from us and from our Father!

UPDATE: Bob was called home by our Lord at approximately 6:30pm. Please keep Leslie & her family in your thoughts and prayers at this time. We will announce arrangements as soon as we get them.

🤗Happy 42nd anniversary to the class of BHS ‘77 Buccaneers!

😲Hardly imaginable that it has been 42 years since 538 of us left BHS! But it is what it is.

😪Sadly, there’s quite a few of us that have left. Last year alone, we lost 5 classmates...Jessica Deville, Kim Mallet, David Bella, Steven Cherco, & Stan Passman. It’s close to 50 classmates & friends that have now passed away.

😀Hopefully, everyone is doing fine now. May you all have a great Memorial Day tomorrow & safe one.
