Did you know UVA offers hybrid learning options through our micro academy locations? All instruction is delivered through UVA teachers, but students have the opportunity to collaborate together in small, local groups.

University View Academy senior Amelie Meche’s artwork, titled The Country of Westrine, has been selected to be featured by Celebrating Art. Meche produced the piece for UVA’s annual student art expo in April.

Her inspiration for the piece? “The Native Americans and their love and reverence for the bison of America in particular,” Meche noted. Her favorite part of the piece? “The color palette.”

A second-year student at UVA, Meche enjoys her teachers and field trips the most. She's also a member of the Early College & Career Academy.

“I want to end my final year of high school strong,” she said. “I’m taking on several dual enrollment and honors classes. I hope to achieve good grades and have college credits by the end of the year.”
