The Coast & Environmental Graduate Organization (CEGO) at Louisiana State University is proud to be hosting the 2017 Gulf of Mexico Graduate Student Symposium! We would like to invite all oceanography, biology, coastal and environment science graduate students to join us from Friday, March 17 through Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON) in Cocodrie, Louisiana.
The Graduate Student Symposium has been an annual spring event since 1999 as an opportunity for students in aquatic, marine, and environmental sciences to exchange information and ideas and present their research in a supportive, non-threatening environment at a cost suitable for students. The symposium attracts attendees from universities throughout the Gulf region. Abstracts are welcome from students in any stage of their research. Typically presentations range from concepts to methods to finished theses and dissertations. Both oral presentations and posters will be accepted, and students who do not wish to present are also welcome.
This all-inclusive symposium which will include two nights lodging at LUMCON, a casual dinner on Friday night and a social dinner on Saturday night, two breakfasts, a lunch, and prizes for award-winning oral and poster presentations. There will also be the opportunity for raffle prizes and free giveaways for everyone attending! Prices are only $65 if registered and fee payment submitted online or post-marked by the February 17 deadline, otherwise $70 at the door. All those interested in presenting MUST have registered and submitted an abstract by February 17.
