Don't forget the Louisiana Book Festival Saturday, October 29, 2016 in downtown Baton Rouge! We'll be there from 10-4 with this year's Basket full of Poe, Mary Shelley, a Tolstoy Voodoo Charm, a raven, tea, chocolates, a Frankenstein doggy chew toy--and two tickets to the Baton Rouge Ballet Theatre's Nutcracker! All yours, plus the chance to donate to a very good cause, while telling us about all your favorite spooky Halloween literature. Enjoy!

We'll be back at the Louisiana Book Festival again this year on Saturday, October 29, from 10:00 to 4:00. So come downtown and hang out with us at the English Department table! We'll talk about Dickens, Austen, Poe, Morrison--whatever your literary longings! We'll have a Halloween-themed basket this year for our drawing, and you know you want a little raven in your life. All the donations go to help send our graduate students to the Dickens Universe next August in Santa Cruz. Enjoy! http://www.louisianabookfestival.org/

We're delighted to announce our 2016 grad student essay winners: Mary Pappalardo and Stacey Amo!

We hope to find funds to send both these brilliant PhD students to this summer's Dickens Universe to study the novel Dombey and Son. You can help through the LSU Foundation website. Go to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and write "Special Literary Projects Fund" in in the Comments field. We can't do it without your support.
