Game Changers at Southern University!

​Southern University's esports team is making history by clinching the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II EA Sports College Football National Championship in April! Led by director Chris Turner and champion student Coby “KingCoby” Robinson, the EDGE lab program is paving the way for students and opening up major career pathways in the billion-dollar gaming industry. This summer, Southern University Biological Sciences pre-med students proudly represented the Jaguar Nation at the Meharry Medical College B.S./M.D. Summer Enrichment Program. Through this highly competitive experience, students strengthened their academic preparation, explored advanced biomedical sciences, engaged with physician mentors, and gained valuable insight into the journey toward becoming future physicians. The six-week program is designed to prepare talented HBCU students for success in medical school through rigorous coursework, professional development, and leadership experiences.

The College of Sciences and Engineering congratulates our outstanding students for their commitment to academic excellence and service. We are proud to support the next generation of physicians who are preparing to improve health outcomes and make a lasting impact in their communities.

🎉 Congratulations to the inaugural ENTER in STEM cohort!

This summer, the College of Sciences and Engineering proudly launched its first ENTER in STEM Summer Bridge Program, designed to prepare incoming STEM students for success before their first semester at Southern University.

Over six weeks, 14 students strengthened their math skills, developed college success strategies, explored STEM careers, and built lasting connections with faculty, staff, and peers.

We are proud of this pioneering class and can't wait to see all they accomplish as they begin Fall 2026. The future of STEM starts here!

The Louisiana Board of Regents has approved a new Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering program at Southern University and A&M College. The new program marks the first chemical engineering program at an HBCU in Louisiana.
