Prepare for your summer dance programs with The Pre-Professional Program’s Classical Intensive. Join us for advanced ballet and pointe work or intermediate ballet. Train with our award winning, internationally recognized students and learn from the only Vaganova-based syllabus in the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area! The Classical Intensive is open to all ballet students currently taking 3 or more nonperformance ballet technique classes per week.

About The Classical Intensive

The Classical Intensive was created in 2019 as a way for dancer’s attending summer intensives away from home to prepare before their classes began. The Classical Intensive offers careful instruction with a specific focus on classical line and development of artistry and prepares dancers for greater success upon attending their additional intensive. Since its beginning, The Classical Intensive has welcomed dancers from all backgrounds, training, and studios to join us each June in focused, technical work to push a dancer’s improvement and ability for the upcoming season. We provide a positive learning environment, allowing dancers to develop a more solid foundation to help them achieve their individual goals.

YOUNG DANCER INTENSIVE
June 22-26

Specifically geared for the developing dancer, we invite students ages 7 and up to join us for a week of learning the building blocks of ballet from the Vaganova syllabus.

Unlock the fundamentals of classical ballet with exercises designed for beginner and intermediate students focusing on developing essential elements of ballet technique: finding and strengthening rotation, lengthening through the knees, and opening the hips safely and effectively.

Whether you’re preparing for competition, strengthening your technique, or dancing for the love of it, our workshop is the perfect summer experience to strengthen your technical foundation and prepare for more rigorous classwork.

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our pre-professional student, Lyncoln Scott, on her acceptance to the prestigious Yale Young Global Scholars program.

Yale Young Global Scholars is a highly selective academic enrichment program for exceptional high school students from around the world. Each summer, participants from more than 150 countries gather at Yale’s historic campus for an intensive, interdisciplinary two-week session.

Lyncoln is currently an eleventh grade student at St. Joseph’s Academy. In addition to fulfilling a demanding schedule of 25 hours of ballet training each week, she excels academically, successfully balancing both Advanced Placement and dual-enrollment classes.

We are so proud of Lyncoln’s accomplishments both in and out of the studio! Please join us in celebrating her monumental achievement!
