August in The Hearth: The theme for August in The Hearth Student Success Center was Rise & Rebuild.

As a new school year begins, it is always exciting to welcome both familiar and new faces into The Hearth. Our NHS Peer Tutors completed their tutor training and have already begun supporting students academically. They also led a workshop, Mapping Your Path to Success at CHS, which focused on organization, understanding teacher expectations, setting SMART goals, and communicating effectively with teachers through professional email etiquette. Of course, The Hearth is about more than academics. Students have already started building new friendships while playing chess, shuffling cards, and working together on puzzles. We also enjoyed a movie afternoon complete with popcorn and drinks while watching The Karate Kid (2010).

As August comes to a close, one question is on everyone's mind:
