Dara Trammell is developing technical and soft skills as a trainee in our North Baton Rouge Industrial Training Initiative. She said, “Specifically, I have developed a more in depth understanding of basic hand tools and gained new knowledge of how to use other tools and instruments I was previously unaware of. I have also learned the importance of developing soft-skills and appreciate how they were explained in CORE. The VISION Group (an employability focused seminar) also taught a systematic approach to effective communication, problem solving, decision making, and teamwork. I have learned why you must condition yourself mentally and physically to be successful in your trade. My career goal is to become an NCCER certified Millwright Journeyman.”
