ANA is in the process of filing suit opposing the Department of Education’s (ED) final rule that excluded nursing from the professional loan degree category, limiting the amount of federally guaranteed loans that nurses can borrow to fund their graduate education.
ANA is also working directly with Congress to pass the bi-partisan, bi-cameral Nursing is a Professional Degree Act that would affirmatively add nursing to the professional degree category.
We urge you to visit RNAction.org for more information and to Take Action in support of the Nurses is a Professional Degree Act.

# # Thank You to Our ANCC Magnet-Designated Hospitals
During Nurses Week, the Louisiana State Nurses Association proudly extends special recognition and sincere appreciation to our American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet-designated hospitals across Louisiana.
The Magnet Recognition Program honors healthcare organizations that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to nursing excellence, quality patient care, professional nursing practice, and a culture that values and supports nurses. Achieving Magnet designation reflects not only organizational leadership, but also the dedication, compassion, and expertise of the nurses who serve patients and communities every day.
We thank the following organizations for their continued leadership and commitment to advancing nursing excellence throughout our state:
* East Jefferson Hospital
* Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center
* Woman’s Hospital
* University Medical Center
* Manning Family Children’s Hospital
Your dedication to supporting nurses, improving patient outcomes, and fostering environments of excellence continues to inspire healthcare organizations across Louisiana.
On behalf of the Louisiana State Nurses Association, thank you for the extraordinary work you do and for the outstanding nurses you champion each day.
