ACCSA Global Sensitization & Partnerships Visit to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka – 9th June 2026

The ACCSA Global team, led by the Regional Representative (Africa), engaged in a strategic Sensitization and Partnerships visit to the Department of Accountancy, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka on Tuesday, 9th June 2026.

Convened under the theme: Digitalization of Accounting Teaching, Learning and Practice in Accordance with Global Best Practices’, the visit commenced with a high-level courtesy engagement with Prof. Nwafor, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences (who represented the Vice Chancellor), Prof. Onyinye, Head of Department, Accountancy, Prof. Egbunike, Prof. Ogor, and Mrs Abosede Famuyiwa, African Representative, CIBE.

In demonstration of its commitment to advancing digital competence in accounting education, ACCSA Global donated three state-of-the-art, customized laptops pre-installed with Sage50, QuickBooks, and IDEA Interactive Data Extraction & Analysis software to the department.

The programme achieved measurable outcomes aligned with ACCSA Global’s mandate of bridging the digital divide. At the Prof. Benjamin Osisioma Accounting Laboratory within the University, the seminar which followed closely after the courtesy call to the VC, involving both Academic Staff and Students accross all Levels, featured technical demonstrations of Sage50, QuickBooks, and IDEA, equipping both faculty and students with practical skills for software-driven accounting practice. The interactive session significantly raised awareness of global certification standards and industry expectations among participants.

Most critically, the visit institutionalized a strategic partnership between ACCSA Global and UNIZIK, creating a framework for sustained collaboration in curriculum enhancement, faculty development, and student certification.

Similarly, the donation of digital tools, coupled with direct capacity-building, positions the Department of Accountancy to deliver training that meets international best practice standards and improves graduate employability.
