It’s HERE. It’s finally HERE!!!

A major milestone has arrived for Louisiana’s student artists!

With the passage of Louisiana Act 137, high school seniors are now eligible to earn the State Seal of Fine Arts on their diploma at graduation!

This prestigious recognition celebrates students who have demonstrated meaningful achievement in the arts, including:

🎵 Music
💃 Dance
🎨 Visual Art
🎭 Theatre
🎬 Media Arts
🍳 Culinary Arts

This is an exciting opportunity to recognize the creativity, dedication, talent, and hard work of our student artists across EBRPSS!

More information is coming soon! In the meantime, students and families are encouraged to connect with their school’s Guidance Counselor to learn more about eligibility and the process for earning the State Seal.

Now, TWO questions remain:

Who will be the FIRST EBRPSS graduating senior to receive the State Seal of Fine Arts?

Which arts category will make history first?

Welcome Ms. I. Perez and Ms. R. Reese to the EBRPSS Music family. Ms. Perez is the general music teacher at Magnolia Woods Elementary and Ms. Reese is the general music teacher at Parkview Elementary.

Both of these wonderful women are recent graduates of LSU Music and we are excited to have them on the team!

The McKinley Middle Academic Magnet Theatre, Dance, and Music Departments are hard at work bringing Annie Jr. to the stage!

Our talented young performers recently stepped into the spotlight for auditions, sharing their acting, singing, and dancing skills as our creative team begins building the world of this beloved musical. Take a look at some of the photos and videos from our audition process and get ready to see these incredible students shine on stage this November. Annie Jr. is directed by Kaitlyn Stockwell, with music direction by Shelton Smith and choreography by Toi Turner.

Elementary school performances will be held November 19 and 20 at 10:00 a.m., with public performances on November 20 at 7:00 p.m. and November 22 at 2:00 p.m.

We can’t wait to welcome our elementary audiences, families, friends, and community to McKinley for a little optimism, a lot of talent, and the reminder that the sun will come out tomorrow!

Our middle and high school musicians have been hard at work this week! 🎶🎷🎺

These students have challenged themselves, refined their skills, and worked together to create outstanding music. Their commitment, teamwork, and passion have been on full display through symphony and jazz pieces. We are so proud of their growth and musicianship! 🎵✨
