Saturday, our TRIO EOC program was excited to attend and participate in the Falling into Resources Community Resource Fair for Parents, hosted by District 7 Councilwoman Twahna Harris at the Inspiration Center on Winbourne.

Community is stronger when resources come together! 💙

On Wednesday, the TRIO Educational Opportunity Center was proud to participate as a vendor at Community Opportunity Day, hosted by the Division of Human Development and Services, Office of Social Services, at the Milton J. Womack Recreation Center.

It was an incredible turnout, with families connecting to educational opportunities, workforce resources, healthcare, supportive services, and so much more. We’re grateful to have been part of such a meaningful event and to continue helping individuals take the next step toward their educational and career goals.

Today was a great reminder of the power of community partnerships!

For the second year, the TRiO Educational Opportunity Center at Baton Rouge Community College proudly partnered with the Baton Rouge Youth Mentorship Program, led by Mr. Quentin Kelly, to host our annual Back-to-School Supply Giveaway.

Together, we distributed more than 200 backpacks filled with school supplies and connected families with valuable community resources. Thank you to our partners, volunteers, and vendors—including the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, East Baton Rouge CTE, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, LOSFA, Louisiana Voter Registration, and everyone who made this event possible.

We were also honored to welcome Mayor-President Sid Edwards in support of this impactful initiative.

Here’s to another successful year of serving our community and investing in student success!

Yesterday, we wrapped up our second workshop with LSU Facility Services, and it was the perfect way to end the day.

We always enjoy partnering with LSU Facility Services because of the energy, engagement, and genuine desire their employees have to continue their education. Whether they’re working toward earning a HiSET, completing an industry certification, or taking the next step into college, it’s inspiring to see so many people investing in themselves and their future.

Today, the TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) at BRCC had the pleasure of attending the annual LSU Facility Services Summer Leisure Learning Session. This marks our third year partnering with their incredible team, and we are always grateful for the warm welcome!

We had the opportunity to share information about Baton Rouge Community College’s academic and workforce programs, financial aid opportunities, industry certifications, diplomas, and degree pathways. Most importantly, we let participants know that TRIO EOC is here to guide them every step of the way—from earning a HiSET to enrolling in college and achieving their educational goals.
