Professor Genara Freeman-Morris proudly represented Southern University Law Center on the national stage at The Empire State Legal Writing Conference at Fordham Law School in New York City.
Professor Freeman-Morris collaborated with Prentice White, Charletta Fortson, Emily Shaffett, and Arielle Young in authoring “Welcome to the Stage: The NextGen Bar Exam: Another Justification for Doctrinal Faculty to Join Forces with Writing & Clinical Faculty.“ Their presentation provided legal educators with tools and a framework for equipping students with a holistic approach to legal practice and preparation for the NextGen Bar Exam.

Congratulations to Carman Thornton on securing a legal internship with Build East Baton Rouge (EBR) this summer, where she will support real estate development, title work, and community facilities projects. She will assist with legal research, property and title review, and initiatives focused on housing development and neighborhood revitalization across East Baton Rouge.
Carman looks forward to gaining hands-on experience in real estate law and community-focused legal work while contributing to projects that strengthen local communities.
