MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT AND CEO:

Dear Helix Family,

Another year has come to an end! The 2025-2026 school year is officially over.

I want to thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart for another great year! We’ve made great academic strides, increased enrollment and implemented new programs and strategies.

This year, we took on many new challenges and I’m proud to say we not only faced the challenges, but we conquered them. This was the first year of our partnership with the City of Baker School System, managing Baker High School and Park Ridge Achievement Academy. The partnership has been wonderful – students and parents are excited about what we’re doing and we’ve seen enrollment increases as more folks are coming home to Baker.

Our K–3 scholars at Helix Aviation Academy made a 28-point gain in just one year on the DIBELS literacy test —proving that focus, consistency, and high expectations deliver results. And at Park Ridge, our scholars grew from a 43% benchmark and above in literacy to 62% in a year.

Our newest school, Helix AI & Medical Academy in St. Landry Parish, had a phenomenal first year with an enrollment that topped 500 students and early academic scores looking really good. Kudos to Principal Gordon and her time for making history in Opelousas.

The end of this year also marks the merger of Helix Legal Academy and Helix Mentorship and Maritime Academy (HMMA). Helix Legal is now fulfilling its original intent and purpose to become Mentorship’s middle school. After many years of trying, we have finally done it.

Next year, HMMA High School and HMMA Middle School will become a reality. Our shark family is definitely growing, and we are so excited about the new 6 - 12th grade configuration of Mentorship. Mentorship’s new maritime focus will also be in full swing next year with maritime courses and more maritime-related extracurriculars.

Additionally, we are also celebrating the completion of the first year of Helix College & Career Academy and congratulate our students who successfully completed their first year of the program. Our "13th Graders" completed a year of college level course work and technical training for free and are on their way to earning a college degree or technical diploma.

Indeed, we’re excited about our accomplishments and we’re looking forward to making even more progress in the future. The future at Helix is bright because of your hard work and dedication. We couldn’t do it without your continued commitment to our students.

So again a big thank you to everyone! Have a safe and enjoyable summer!

Proud moments and lasting memories took center stage as Baker High School celebrated graduation and honored students as they prepared for the next chapter of their journey. Families, friends and staff gathered to recognize the students’ hard work, growth and accomplishments throughout the school year.

Myra Richardson delivered words of encouragement and inspiration during the ceremony as graduates reflected on the milestone moment. Students listened attentively while embracing the excitement of celebrating their achievements alongside classmates, teachers and loved ones.

One by one, 83 graduates heard their names called and proudly walked across the stage to receive their diplomas. Cheers and applause filled the room as families celebrated each graduate and the milestone they achieved. A special moment was also held in honor of Edwyn Williams, a senior who passed away earlier this year. His mother accepted his diploma on his behalf as the community reflected on his memory and celebrated his life.

We are proud of our students and all they have accomplished. We look forward to watching them continue to grow and succeed in their future endeavors.

Excitement filled the room as Park Ridge Achievement Academy celebrated its Pre-K and kindergarten promotion ceremonies. Dressed in caps and gowns, the young scholars waited in anticipation for their moment to walk across the stage.

As each name was called, students stepped forward with bright smiles while family members and loved ones filled the room with cheers and applause. The ceremonies captured a milestone moment for the students as they prepared to begin the next chapter of their academic journey.

To close each ceremony, the Pre-K and kindergarten classes sang a celebratory song for their parents and supporters while making their way out of the auditorium. The special performance served as a heartfelt tribute to the families who encouraged them throughout the school year.

We are proud of our young scholars and wish them continued success as they advance to the next grade level and prepare for the new school year!
