Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County CCE-Steuben is concentrating on local food systems and local energy systems.

We are educating the public on the importance of creating and supporting local farm stands, farmer's markets, community supported agriculture, how to feed a family of four on a home food garden, and how to safely preserve the harvest for year-round use. We are paving the way to the future with information on energy conservation, using wind and solar energy in residential, industrial, agricultural,

and educational sites, building a local grass bioenergy system to utilize idle grassland while keeping energy dollars in the local economy, and production of biodiesel from local crops to reduce dependence on petroleum and build a local energy system based on agriculture.
