We'd like to warmly welcome NEW teacher Sarah Oeste! Sarah will be teaching Rhythm Kids for kids ages 5-8 on SATURDAY mornings starting this fall!
Sarah is a solo pianist and educator living in mid-coast Maine. Her musical journey has graced prestigious concert halls across the country. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Solo Piano from the University of Maryland, and previously taught at Peabody Preparatory in Baltimore, Maryland and at her own studio before raising her two children. She has over 10 years of experience working with children in educational settings.
Sarah is passionate about nurturing and growing people's innate love of music. She believes that music is one of life's greatest joys and that everyone, child or adult, can benefit from a deeper understanding and connection to music.
Sarah loves playing music with others and has been a part of many piano duos, trios, and other ensembles. She has performed in concerts across the country as a soloist and chamber musician.
Sarah has many years of experience as an accompanist. She has performed and competed professionally with vocalists, French horn, trumpet, flute, tuba, trombone, violin, and cello players.
She has also been a professional Japanese Koto player and studied under Kyoko Okamoto at the University of Maryland. She is a member of the Washington Toho Koto Society and performed at many events in the Washington D.C. area for cultural celebrations and ambassador visits.
