Hey everyone--Ben here. Since we have some new people following, I wanted to share a bit about the "why" behind Wild Enneagram.

Our vision is To Support The Wild Human Psyche in Modern Life.

Every single one of us has an evolutionary heritage rooted in the natural world. Baked into our DNA is an affinity for the movement of rivers, the cycles of the moon, and the turning of the earth beneath us. To be fully human--with access to the full range of our gifts and potentials--is to be fully in touch with this innate wildness.

However, the way we live right now can make that difficult. Most of us in the modernized world were born in cities and grew up surrounded by built environments--metal machines we drive around and rectangular buildings that we live and work in. There's nothing inherently wrong with those, and I am not anti-human or anti-progress; however, the fact remains that our biological wiring suffers when we do not have access to the ways of life that our ancestors did.

I see Wild Enneagram offering one answer to this. We are seeking to reconcile the relationship between humans and the rest of nature (yes, we are part of nature, too--we've just forgotten!). Through the power of the Enneagram and the gentle homecoming of a nature-informed practice, we can learn to live in the modern world while simultaneously supporting our fundamentally wild souls. When we do, we find access to a wellspring of creativity, inspiration, resilience, and a deep capacity for collaboration. In other words--the exact things we are going to need to shepherd ourselves through this moment of upheaval in history.

If you'd like to gather with others in this, or you are seeking support on the journey, visit me at wildenneagram.com or send me a DM. I hope to hear from you soon.

We spend so much of our lives seeking—answers, direction, and clarity outside of ourselves.

Especially when we’re caught in the momentum of our personality type, it can feel like the only way forward is to try harder... to ask again, to fix ourselves, to double down on what isn’t working.

But what if the thing we’re looking for isn’t out there?

What if it’s been here all along... quiet, steady, waiting beneath the noise of doubt and striving?

This is one of the gifts of working with the Enneagram in partnership with nature. Nature invites us to slow down, to come back to our senses, and to remember that we already carry within us the very qualities we long for.

Inner guidance doesn’t need to be created; it needs to be remembered.

When we lose touch with our inner compass, it can feel like we’re drifting, unmoored from what matters most.

In my own journey and in my work with clients, I’ve seen how powerful it can be to find simple, grounded ways back to center. And the path isn’t the same for everyone.

So much of the inner work we do with the Enneagram is about unlearning the idea that we have to strive, prove, or fix ourselves to become whole. The truth is, the essential gifts of our type—whether it’s value, guidance, love, strength, clarity—are not something we earn. They’re already here.

Nature reminds us of this. A tree doesn’t try to be more valuable. A river doesn’t question its purpose. They embody their essence simply by existing. And when we spend time in nature, when we slow down enough to be present with it, we start to remember that the same is true for us.

You don’t need to become something else. You need to remember who you already are.

One of the most surprising—and beautiful—things about doing inner work with the Enneagram is this: the moment I stop striving to be something, to create the quality I think I lack, it quietly begins to arise within me.

When I stop chasing strength, I discover resilience already rooted in me.
When I stop trying to prove my worth, I feel my inherent value.
When I stop reaching for joy, a quiet lightness shows up on its own.

The Enneagram helps us name what we’ve been seeking—and then teaches us how to let go just enough to find it already here.

Which essential gift do you long for most right now?

So much of our inner work isn’t about adding or fixing—it’s about remembering.

Nature doesn’t demand that we earn our worth or prove our gifts. It simply reflects back what’s already whole within us.

When we slow down and listen, we remember:
We’re not separate.
We’re not broken.
We’re already held.

Want to explore this for yourself?

🌀 This is the heart of nature-based Enneagram work.

What qualities has nature reminded you of lately?

When I get caught in my Type Six patterns—overthinking, worrying, doubting—it feels like I’m caught in an eddy, and no amount of paddling will set me free.

The answer is usually to practice whatever I can to stop the mental struggle. To relax and find the flow of the river. The body center can be a big help in this.

Lying in the grass, walking in wind, feeling sun on skin… these simple things bring me back. Nature doesn’t fix us. It reminds us we’re not broken.

What’s your way back to yourself when you’re caught in a loop?

The ocean and the sky have a way of reflecting something essential—clarity, spaciousness, the wide-open mind. As someone rooted in Type 6, I often look for a felt sense of support and guidance. One of my most grounding practices is simple: I go outside and lie down on the earth. I let the moss, the stone, the ground itself hold me. I remember that support is always here, beneath me, around me, within me.

What does support feel like for you?

Start close in.
Not with the big plan. Not with the image of how it’s supposed to go.
But with the first step. The one you don’t want to take.

So much of inner work—especially with the Enneagram—isn’t about fixing or becoming something different.
It’s about noticing what’s here now.
What needs your attention, your honesty, your courage.
The next right step is rarely loud or glamorous.
But it’s yours.

So many of the essential gifts we long for—strength, peace, aliveness, worth—aren’t things we need to manufacture.

They already exist within us… and around us.
Nature reflects them back to us with quiet clarity.
Sometimes it takes just a walk in the woods to remember what we thought we’d lost.

What shows up most easily for you when you’re present in nature? I’ve included the Body Center gifts in a poll. Vote and share below.
