Our Career Service Center is announcing a new rebranding.
Our new name is the Lyon College Center For Career and Professional Development.
Why the change?
• The Center For Career and Professional Development better aligns with our Lyon College mission to “prepare students for fulfilling personal and professional lives committed to lifelong learning and service.”
• The new brand shifts our messaging away from simply job support services (resumes, cover letters, and job search) to a more holistic view of preparing our students for the entirety of their careers. This does not mean that my department will stop delivering job support tools, but rather, it plans to go beyond to provide development of the career competencies that will equip students for lifetime success.
• The new brand offers versatile and flexible options for my department. This change can lead to future endeavors such as certifications, workshops, seminars, online courses, and personalized training.
