Our spring membership meeting is scheduled for 6 pm, March 20, at the Independence County
Cooperative Extension Center, 1770 Meyer Street, Batesville.
We will serve a barbecue dinner,
then receive a presentation by Robert Floyd, Conservation Programs Forester with the Arkansas
Forestry Division.

The Ozark Woodland Owners Association is an independent, incorporated 501(c)
(3) association of forest landowners, forestry professionals, and others.
The association is an independent state affiliate of the National Woodland Owners Association. Education is an important part of the association’s mission. Therefore we regularly offer several programs including:
1) Landowner workshops and field days
2) Biennial North Arkansas Forest Landowner Training Conference
3) Technical assistance to fellow forest landowners

Our very first OWOA director professional development training event is scheduled for January 27th! We have a big day planned in Little Rock. We will be meeting with and learning from many of our forestry and agricultural specialists! We have an exciting lineup and room for a few more members to attend. Would you like to join us? Our fall membership meeting is scheduled for 6 pm., October 24 at the Independence County Cooperative Extension Center, 1770 Meyer Street, Batesville.
All forest landowners are invited to OWOA’s 2022 Spring Meeting to be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the U of A Cooperative Extension Office located on Myers Ave next to the Independence County Sheriff’s Office. The meeting topic will be prescribed burning and introduction to the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission’s “Learn to Burn” program. Fire is an excellent forest management tool and learning more about it is important. Make your plans now to attend and to make sure the appropriate amount of food is prepared you are asked to confirm your attendance with Secretary Ron Bell by email at [email protected] or by phone at 870-793-4379.
As the world begins work on reducing carbon emissions the forests of the world will be vital players in any effort. The Ozark Woodland Owners Association is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to forest landowner education.
