Thank you, Ashley Engles and Citizens Bank, for gifting the Music classroom these cups. We have been enjoying learning about triple meter with a fun cup routine!
For Hispanic Heritage Month, classes are being introduced to new songs celebrating Hispanic Heritage. One of the books being used is "Señorita Mariposa" by Ben Gundersheimer based on his song of the same name. We've also learned about the Monarch Butterfly migration to Mexico for the winter. Many of our students are not native English speakers, so the opportunity to learn a song celebrating the language they speak at home is a great learning tool. Thank you to Mister G for providing this wonderful song and story to our kids.
This video features Mrs. Akins' 3rd Grade and Mrs. Hall's 4th Grade students singing "Señorita Mariposa."
Thank you, Mrs. Paula Burge Pierce, for donating these teddy bear Beanie Babies!! The students love to sing to them. The song they’re singing is “Fais Do Do” which is a Cajun lullaby. It’s a simple song but helps our students become tuneful and expressive.
If you have any Beanie Babies you no longer want and would like to donate to the music room, email Ms. Brown ([email protected]).
Keeping track of a former student! Ashlyn is going to make her mark on the music world!
