☕️Coffee, classroom, and communication! This lesson was an absolute treat!

Our student Mai Anh (pictured in yellow) comes to the United States with many years of running a coffee bar of Vietnam. Today she showed us the skills that made her cafe so popular!

We turned the classroom into a bustling café as our student took center stage to present a masterclass on brewing traditional Vietnamese coffee!

Mai Anh didn't just share one method; she wrote out the directions and explained an entire menu of choices in English—from a classic Black Coffee (Cà phê đen) and Vietnamese Iced Coffee (Cà phê sữa) to unique twists like White Coffee (Bạc xỉu), Grass Jelly Coffee (Cà phê sương sáo), and even Salted Coffee (Cà phê muối)!
There’s absolutely nothing better than watching students build real-world confidence, share their culture, and give us a delicious caffeine boost at the same time. 😋👏

🚀 What a day at the 2026 Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo: LAUNCHPAD! We had the best time taking our Adult Education students to explore innovative local businesses and network with local employers. Watching our students make real connections in their fields — like one student who walked away with a handful of new contacts in home health — was worth every bit of it! This is exactly why we love getting our students out of the classroom and into the heart of Batesville. We are so proud of each and every one of them! 🌟

🌟 June Student of the Month: Ruth Escobar 🌟

Meet Ruth — a proud Salvadoran, mama of three, world traveler, and one of Batesville's own for the past 23 years! ✈️

Ruth has been part of this community for over two decades, and now she is taking her future into her own hands by leveling up her English skills. Her inspiration? Herself. And we love that kind of confidence! 💪

Ruth's English is already making a real difference — she has used it to help others who don't speak the language yet, and even to navigate important doctor's appointments. That is a big deal! 🏥💙

Her favorite part of class is her teacher, which honestly just warms our hearts. 🥰 And her husband and son are cheering her on every step of the way.
Ruth's advice to anyone thinking about enrolling? "It is very important." Short, sweet, and absolutely true!

We are so proud of you, Ruth! Keep going! 🌟

🎓✨ Congratulations to our incredible Adult Education graduates! ✨🎓

On May 11th, we celebrated some truly amazing individuals who worked hard, stayed the course, and crossed that finish line! We are SO proud of each and every one of you — your dedication and perseverance inspire us every single day.

We were also thrilled to have a special guest join in the celebration! Our program advisor, Dana Davis, happened to be in the area and stopped by to cheer on our graduates. We love when our AE family shows up! 🙌 Be sure to check out our group photo with Dana — what a special memory!

Here's to new beginnings and bright futures ahead! Congratulations, Class of 2026! 🌟

April may be behind us, but some celebrations are too good to skip — meet our April Student of the Month! 🌟

Evangelina "Eva" Contreras Munoz 🌟

Eva is a runner, a traveler, a devoted mom of three boys — Lyan, Yael, and Noah — and one of the most inspiring students in our ESL program at UACCB. She has lived in Batesville for just one year, but she has already set her sights high: Eva wants to become a welder. 🔥

Learning English isn't just a class for Eva — it's a family mission. Her husband, who speaks English, encourages her every single day, and her three sons keep her sharp by speaking English with her at home. When asked about a moment she felt truly hopeful, Eva didn't point to one special day. She said, "Every day." 💙

Eva knows firsthand how much language matters. She remembers being alone in the hospital when her children were born, and being able to answer the doctors and nurses — that meant everything.

Her advice to anyone considering ESL classes? "You can, because it is a beautiful language."

Eva, you came here with a dream, a supportive family, and a whole lot of heart. We are so proud to celebrate YOU this April! 🎉🌸

🌟 May Student of the Month: Yaimara Domenech 🌟
Say hello to Yaimara—also called Yai — a proud Cuban-born mama, devoted wife, and hardworking student who is making her English dreams come true right here in Batesville! 💙
Yai came to UACCB with a clear goal: to open doors to better opportunities for herself and her family. Her secret weapon? Perseverance. She practices by talking to native speakers, listening carefully, and repeating until it sticks — and it's working!
Her favorite part of class? Participatory debates! This lady loves to speak up and engage. 🙌
At home, her husband Armando cheers her on by practicing English with her, and her son Isbel is all the motivation she needs to keep going.
Yai's advice to anyone thinking about joining ESL class is short, sweet, and powerful: "Perseverance and not giving up."
We see you, Yai — and we are so proud of you! 🌟
