BULLDOGS BATTLE BACK FOR THE WIN

The Batesville Girls Varsity Soccer team battled the heat and a quick Switzerland County team Thursday evening, overcoming an early 2-0 deficit to earn an exciting 3-2 comeback victory!

Switzerland County scored twice in the first half, but the Bulldogs stayed composed and responded with two goals in just four minutes.

Freshman Sydney Britton started the comeback with a long-range shot that found the back of the net. Shortly after, freshman Elia Wade sent a shot off the crossbar, and Kenzi Lacey battled through two defenders and the goalkeeper to put away the rebound for her first goal of the season.

Early in the second half, Britton found Hailee Weisenbach, who set herself and fired a left-footed shot from outside the 18-yard box for what would become the game-winning goal.

From there, the Bulldog defense took over. Nora Wiedeman, Savannah Pohlman, Emma Cheek, Cora Miller, Kenzi Lacey and Bailey Feldmann kept Switzerland County off the board for the final 36 minutes to secure the win.

FINAL: Batesville 3, Switzerland County 2

The Bulldogs return home Tuesday, September 8, when Varsity and JV host Lawrenceburg.

BULLDOGS WIN IN DOUBLE OVERTIME!

What a finish for Batesville Boys Soccer!

The Bulldogs hosted South Dearborn Tuesday evening in a back-and-forth battle that needed double overtime to decide a winner.

South Dearborn struck first, but Batesville answered quickly. William Newell connected with Trenton Taylor, who worked through the defense and found the back of the net to tie the match. Less than a minute later, Ryan McGuire won his 1v1 opportunity to put the Bulldogs in front.

Taylor added his second goal of the night to extend the lead to 3-1, but South Dearborn fought back with two goals before halftime, sending the teams into the break tied 3-3.

The score remained locked through the second half and first overtime.

Then came the winner.

In the second overtime, McGuire won possession in midfield and sent a through ball to Ronan Post, who drove toward goal and finished for the game-winner!

FINAL: Batesville 4, South Dearborn 3 — 2OT

SENIOR NIGHT AT HILLCREST

The Batesville Girls Golf team hosted Center Grove tonight at Hillcrest Golf & Country Club, with the Bulldogs finishing just five strokes back, 187-182.

Batesville sophomore Stella Maple earned medalist honors, leading the field with a 39!

Bulldogs Earn EIAC Win at East Central

The Batesville Boys Tennis team traveled to East Central tonight for an EIAC matchup and came away with a 4-1 varsity victory over the Trojans!

VARSITY RESULTS

1 Singles: Jevan Smith fell to Bo Nobbe, 4-6, 4-6

2 Singles: Carson Meyer defeated Owen Vollmer, 6-1, 6-4

3 Singles: Max Walter defeated Owen Mersmann, 6-3, 6-3

1 Doubles: Wes Peters & Will Patterson defeated Noah Kraus & Jack Smith, 6-3, 6-2

2 Doubles: Eli Doll & Coleman West battled through three sets to defeat Cole Allison & Tate Mosier, 6-3, 2-6, 10-8

JV RESULTS

1 Doubles: Drew Nobbe & Parker Smith fell to Jayden Wuestefeld & Landon Weldishofer, 0-8

2 Doubles: Tyler Musick & Matthew Jensen fell to Patrick Egan & Taylor Kyle, 1-8

3 Doubles: Drew Nobbe & Parker Smith fell to Ethan Hetz & Maximus Campbell, 4-6

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 6-2 overall and 1-1 in the EIAC.

UP NEXT: Batesville hits the road again Thursday as the Bulldogs travel to Lawrenceburg to take on the Tigers.

BULLDOGS BRING HOME TWO WINS!

The Batesville Girls Varsity and JV Soccer teams traveled to South Dearborn tonight, and both teams are coming home with WINS!

VARSITY WINS 5-0!

The Bulldogs wasted no time getting on the board! Marley Denning opened the scoring off a corner sequence, perfectly placing the ball past the keeper.

Sydney Britton followed with a goal from the top of the 18 off a drop-back pass from Hailee Weisenbach. Before halftime, Maddie Prewitt sent a cross to Weisenbach, who buried it in the back of the net to give Batesville a 3-0 lead.

The Bulldogs kept rolling in the second half! Weisenbach drilled a free kick up and over the keeper for her second goal of the night, and then the freshmen connected — Britton served the corner and Elia Wade headed it home to make it 5-0!

JV played just one half but made it count! Leah Goodin scored the first goal of the night, followed by Avi Miller to secure the 2-0 Bulldog victory!

JV BULLDOGS ROLL TO 2-0!

What a night for Batesville JV Football! The Bulldogs put together another 50-point performance, shutting out Milan 50-0 and improving to 2-0 on the season!

The Bulldogs got contributions from all three phases of the game:

Deacon Fledderman — 2 touchdown receptions

Cam Anderson — rushing TD + 2-point conversion

Jarod Zins — kickoff return TD to open the second half

Jonah Heil — threw a TD pass AND caught a TD pass

Gus Robben — fumble recovery returned for a defensive TD

Ryan Oilier — fumble recovery

Cam Anderson — forced fumble

Huston Cook, Drake Hohman and Zach Reed led the Bulldogs in tackles.

Offense. Defense. Special teams. Everybody got in on the action!
