March is National Reading Month. Please join us for a family reading challenge that you can do at home! Reading at home helps children develop a love of learning. Research continually supports the incredible benefits of reading at home. Students who read, or are read to, at least 20 minutes each day have a continually growing vocabulary and are exposed to 1.8 million vocabulary words a year! Stay tuned for more information on the benefits of reading during the month of March!

Congratulations, Caleb Murrah, for being the next member of the Eagle Mountain Elementary Million Word Club!

I am saddened to share that Beverly Cleary, one of the most beloved children’s books authors of all time, passed away March 25, at 104 years old.

Many readers count themselves lucky to have the very real characters she created, including Henry Huggins, Ramona and Beezus Quimby, and Ralph S. Mouse, as true friends who helped shape their growing-up.

Thank you all for supporting our Book Fair today. It was a great day in the library. Thank you for encouraging the love of reading. ❤️
