Lexington County School District Three is thrilled to announce that Dr. Era Roberts, Assistant Principal for Instruction at Batesburg-Leesville High School, has been selected as the South Carolina Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year. This prestigious award is sponsored by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) and is presented annually to three assistant principals--one at the elementary, middle and high school level. Congratulations to the Batesburg-Leesville Panther Band on winning the title of 1A Lower State Champs on Saturday, October 23rd.

The band will compete in the SCBDA's State Marching Band Championship on Saturday, October 30th in Panther Stadium at B-L High School.

B-L High School seniors Mina Shull (left), Ethan Muilenburg (center) and Rachel Connelly (right) participated in the American Legion's Palmetto Girls State and Palmetto Boys State this past summer. The camps took place during the week of June 13th through 19th, with Palmetto Boys State being held at Anderson University and Palmetto Girls State taking place virtually.

It is a great honor to be chosen as a delegate to Palmetto Girls State and Palmetto Boys State. Students must have demonstrated leadership, character, scholarship, loyalty and service to their school and the community to be considered for selection. The B-L High School students chosen for Palmetto Girls State and Palmetto Boys State were sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary Post 61.

The winner will be announced during halftime on Friday, October 15th when the Varsity Panther football team faces off against Columbia High School in Panther Stadium.
