Teaching and Learning with e-Labs We are exploring the use of FB as a tool to foster community amongst I2U2 e-Lab users.

To communicate with fellow I2U2 e-Lab users, join the I2U2 Users Group. Just search for "I2U2 Users" and request to join. e-Labs provide, to schools, real data from cutting-edge physics experiments. Students are also provided access to computing resources to support their investigations. Currently data are available from The LHC's Compact Muon Solenoid, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Obser

vatory,and an international network of school-based cosmic ray detectors. I2U2 receives support from the US National Science Foundation and the Office of Science in the US Department of Energy.

We are changing the name of the i2u2 page to a QuarkNet e-Labs. i2u2 as a project no longer exists and the e-Labs are part of QuarkNet

Edit Peronja, our e-Lab developer, got EQUIP running on a $70 Raspberry pi computer and taking data from the Muon Cosmic Ray Detector (DAQ), developed at Fermilab. See the small computer in her hand, the DAQ in the foreground and the graph on the monitor displayed using EQUIP. EQUIP (E-lab QuarkNet User Interface Purdue) java interface was developed by Matthew Jones at Purdue University, Frank Roetker of Jefferson High School and Edit Peronja at Fermilab with support from the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy.
