Cornerstone shares a rich history of providing Christian education to the Bastrop community, a history that dates as far back as 1990. After many years of funding and supporting the K-12 operations of Nazarene Christian School, Cornerstone’s founders started their own school in 2005 – Cornerstone High School. The original aim of Cornerstone was to provide a Bible-based educational environment excl

usively for middle school and high school students in the Bastrop community. For over a decade, Cornerstone High School provided such a community. However, after seeing a bigger need for Christian education at younger grades, Cornerstone’s leaders decided to restructure their organization. In August of 2019, Cornerstone started offering programs exclusively for toddlers, pre-k, and kindergarten, and Cornerstone High School became Cornerstone Christian Academy. Although our organization’s heart had not changed, our new plan was to adapt to the needs of our community and then grow with our families. In other words, Cornerstone still aims to provide a Bible-based educational environment to the Bastrop community. We have just reimagined how we will accomplish that goal. We were truly blessed in our first year after restructuring and wanted to continue seeking the needs of our families. In addition to the toddler and early childhood programs we started back in 2019, we decided to launch a first through third grade program in August of 2020. As excited as we are to say we now offer a Christian educational environment for toddlers through third grade, we believe we are just taking the beginning steps toward our long-term goals. Below is a brief summary of why we exist, what’s important to us, and what we want to accomplish together. We hope this information will help you make the best decision for your child. Mission: To help parents lay a foundation for their children to build meaningful lives upon. Values: Christianity, personal responsibility, collaboration, curiosity, and character. Vision: Our goal is to foster a vibrant, faith-based toddler through twelfth grade community that helps parents teach and equip their children with the knowledge and resources they need to go live excellent and meaningful lives that positively impact Bastrop, its surrounding communities, and the world.

We are so grateful for these precious children. Our teachers constantly express how grateful to God they are for the gift of these students and the blessings they are in their lives. We look forward to seeing how they grow and blossom this year!

It is almost back-to-school time! 3 new events have been added to our page.

As part of our enrollment process, at least one parent must attend Parent Orientation. We will have two options this year with Zoom options for both. Child care will be provided during the time of event. Please plan to attend on either:

Thursday, August 12th 4:30p.m.-6:00p.m.
OR
Friday, August 13th 9:30a.m.-11:00a.m.

Friday from 1:30p.m.-3:30p.m. is our come-and-go Open House event where parents and students can visit with teachers and tour the school. We look forward to seeing you soon!
