Bastrop High School Forensic Science

🚨BHS forensic science students spent the morning showing their appreciation to our first responder community partners. These agencies have gone above and beyond when it comes to supporting our students. We also managed to have a little fun along the way. 🚒

Over the past several weeks, BHS forensic science students have been engaged in learning about medicolegal death investigation, which entails the inquiry into unexpected or suspicious deaths. This week, students had the opportunity to attend a lecture delivered by forensic pathologist Dr. Suzanna Dana, gaining insight into the role of a medical examiner. Additionally, students explored the field of forensic anthropology through a laboratory activity.

💡🥼Today BHS forensic science students had the opportunity to help out at STEAMFest. They did a fantastic job of sharing their knowledge with other students from campuses throughout the district.

Career training opportunity for our young people in Bastrop County!

💫BHS forensic science students had the privilege of attending a FACTS Lecture at the Texas State Forensic Anthropology Center, where they learned about human osteology and worked directly with human skeletal remains. In cases where only bones remain, forensic anthropologists can help investigators determine the victim's identity and sometimes the cause of death. 💀🩻
