Maytime Beauty
A little seed
For me to sow…
A little earth
To make it grow…
A little hole, A little pat ...
A little wish, And that is that.
A little sun,
A little shower...
A little while, And then-a flower!

After reading A Journey of Wind, we conducted an experiment to observe the wind (the movement of air around us). To the children’s amazement, they were able to see it!
“The wind teaches us to move without being seen.”

Rest is not idleness, and sometimes, just lying under trees on a lovely May afternoon, listening to the birds or watching the clouds drift by, is a wonderful way to spend your time.

"Time in nature is not leisure time, it's an essential investment in our children's health (and also, by the way, in our own health)."

Listening to birds reduces cortisol, slows your heart rate, and triggers parasympathetic calm.
Why? Because for centuries our ancestors knew that birdsong meant you're safe.
Your body still remembers.

We must help the child to act for himself, will for himself, think for himself; this is the art of those who aspire to serve the spirit.

Outdoor play isn't just for sunny days. When kids explore in wind, rain, and cold, they build adaptability, body awareness, and resilience.
Half of our outdoor classroom stayed icy and half melted. So we had the best of both today.
4 hours of outdoor play in sunny 30 degree weather. It was clear, and crisp. It actually felt warmer than 30. It felt great!! ☀️🥶😊
