Riverside Middle School welcomed its newest 6th graders in true Grizzly style last night! 🐻📣

An energetic pep rally, big smiles and plenty of school spirit made the Riverside Round-Up the perfect way to kick off the new school year.

Tomorrow is the first day of school, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome our students back! 🍎😄

As we kick off the 2026–27 school year, let’s work together to make it a great one and a safe one.

We ask our families and community to please be patient and plan for increased traffic around our campuses as everyone settles into new routines, parents navigate drop off and pick up, and buses begin new routes.

🚗 Slow down, stay off your phone, obey school zone speed limits, and watch carefully for students walking, biking, or boarding buses.

🚌 Remember to obey school bus laws. You are required to stop when approaching a school bus with its red lights flashing and STOP arms extended.

The first week can bring a little extra stress, so leave early, plan ahead, take a deep breath, and enjoy the excitement of a new school year!

Texas House Bill 1481: A Reminder About the Use of Devices on Campus

As a new school year begins, please note that in accordance with the mandates of Texas House Bill 1481, BISD prohibits students from using personal communication devices during the school day. This includes cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, earbuds, Ai glasses, and similar devices.

What does this mean for students?
• Devices must be turned off and put away during the school day, including lunch and passing periods.
• Students are responsible for storing devices securely in their backpacks.
• School-issued Chromebooks and other district devices will continue to be used for learning.
• Limited exceptions may be granted for approved medical needs or IEP/504 accommodations.
