This lil' sprout joined the realms almost 14 years ago via an unassisted home water birth.

...This image captures how I weighed her for the first 6 months.
..at Sprouts.

And for all these years…she has never been to a doctor.

No well-child checks,
No vaccines
…she’s never been sick enough to merit a pharmaceutical antibiotic

I was 40 when I got pregnant with this one.
..deep into *high-risk* category...because of age

Yet, I did not even seek a mid-wife until I was 32 weeks pregnant!

Why???
Because.

Because my body is designed to do this particular thing, with precision and excellence.

And
I
Chose
To
Believe
That

I knew I wanted to experience a birth with as little intervention as possible
I hired a midwife...as a wise council
..and she guided me from a distance
..and made herself available as an assistant in the immediate post-partum

Ultimately, she assisted me in having an Unassisted WaterBirth

**Our bodies are designed to live and thrive**

When I began contractions that afternoon, I called her around 6:30pm to tell her I was in labor

She said, *ok, I'll come check on you around 10 tonight*
I told her (at 6*30pm)

*Oh! I'm gonna be done with this by 8:30! I don't have time or energy for a long drawn out labor!*

Yes, I DECIDED how long my labor was going to be and that she would come with ease.
