Our United Way Day of Giving did not go as planned. The shipment that held our swing was delayed by three days. Therefore, the generous volunteers that were going to put it together were not able to come do it today. However, we did have a visit from Miss Brittany Yates and we thoroughly enjoyed her visit. She explained why she was in a wheelchair and showed the kids how it worked. Thank you Miss Brittany for sharing your time with our kiddos today!

Today United Way of Henry County & Martinsville and MHC Partners for Children staff kept the Read Across America excitement going with more stories, bright smiles, and meaningful moments across Martinsville and Henry County. Each visit reminds us how powerful reading can be in building confidence, imagination, and early literacy skills.

If you are a childcare site, school, afterschool, or summer program and would like a reader to visit your site in the future, please contact Erica James at [email protected].
