Congratulations to our Floriculture team who placed 5th in the State Floriculture contest this week at the 98th Annual Virginia FFA Convention. Our members competed against more than 150 members and 30 teams!

Congratulations to our Veterinary Science Team who placed 5th out of more than 30 teams in the at the 98th Virginia State FFA Convention this week! Jacy Martin also placed 10th as an individual among more than 120 members!

Three Bassett FFA Members spent time serving on the Courtesy Corps committee this week during convention! Students in Courtesy Corps assist state officers and staff during sessions, manning doors, giving directions, and filling seats for absent awards recipients. These students were also able to attend multiple leadership workshops led by state officers!

Tonight, we celebrated two of our chapter officers who have spent the past two years working on Supervised Agricultural Experience projects, documenting time & finances, writing articles, starting a business, and interning with a national media company! Both of these girls earned the sole titles in their area for state proficiency awards, and are coming home with $250, a state plaque, and a gold state pin!

Congratulations to the Bassett FFA Floriculture team who has placed amongst the top 6 teams in the state, and will be progressing to Day 2 of the state floriculture contest! Bassett FFA is in Blacksburg this week for the 98th Annual Virginia State FFA Convention!

Everyone is donned in their official dress for the first session this evening, where we will have 3 members serving in the courtesy corps, and we will be accepting the Superior Chapter, Gold National Chapter, and the Public Relations award!

We will be competing in several contests, and accepting other awards throughout the week, so stay tuned for updates!
