Yesterday, our Scholars in Dance class performed in their final Parent Observation of the school year! We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, dedication, and confidence they brought to every movement and routine.
Throughout the year, the children have worked hard to learn new skills, follow choreography, express themselves creatively, and grow as performers. Their final observation was a wonderful opportunity to showcase all they have accomplished while sharing their love of dance with their families.
Providing children with opportunities to perform in front of an audience helps build self-confidence, courage, and communication skills. It encourages them to step outside their comfort zones, celebrate their achievements, and take pride in their hard work. Watching our dancers light up the room with their smiles and energy was truly a joy!
Thank you to our Ms. Gina for inspiring our Scholars all year long, and to our families for supporting and encouraging their young performers. Congratulations to our dancers on a fantastic final performance—we can't wait to see where their talents take them next!

Last week, our Scholars stepped into a world of wonder as they explored the fascinating theme of Light and Shadows! Through hands-on discovery, creativity, and play, the children learned how light can change what we see and how shadows are created when light is blocked. These experiences help build early science skills, observation, creativity, and problem-solving.
Throughout the week, our classrooms became laboratories of light! Children experimented with flashlights to discover how shadows can grow, shrink, and move. They created imaginative stories with shadow puppets, painted and traced each other's shadows, and explored how different light sources create different effects. The excitement continued with glowing fairy lights and colorful glow bracelets, which transformed our classrooms into magical spaces for exploration and learning.
Watching the children ask questions, make predictions, and share their discoveries reminded us that some of the most meaningful learning happens through curiosity and play. We loved seeing their faces light up as they explored the science and magic all around them!

On Friday, the C2S Scholars proudly walked in a parade to honor and remember those who have served our country this Memorial Day weekend.
Through songs, flags, and smiles, the children learned about the importance of courage, sacrifice, and service. Memorial Day is a time to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives protecting our freedoms, while also showing appreciation for the active military members and veterans who continue to serve our country with dedication and bravery.
We are so proud of our Scholars for participating with such respect and enthusiasm as they celebrated this meaningful day together.

We still have SO many adorable Teddy Bear Clinic photos to share that one post simply wasn’t enough! 🩺🧸✨
From x-rays and casts to vision checks, dental exams, bandages, and heart check-ups, our Scholars fully embraced their roles as caring doctors, nurses, and medical helpers for their beloved stuffed friends. The smiles, curiosity, and compassion shown throughout the morning were truly unforgettable.
Events like our Teddy Bear Clinic do so much more than create fun memories — they help children build confidence and familiarity with medical environments through hands-on play. Medical play experiences like Teddy Bear Clinics are known to help reduce fear and anxiety around doctor visits while helping children feel empowered and comfortable in healthcare settings.
One of our favorite parts of the day was watching children comfort their stuffies, ask thoughtful questions, and proudly care for their “patients” just like real medical professionals. ❤️
A huge thank you again to our amazing parent volunteers for making this experience so meaningful, engaging, and special for our children. We are incredibly grateful for the time, kindness, and enthusiasm you brought to our Teddy Bear Clinic!

Last week, our Scholars visited the C2S Teddy Bear Clinic, staffed by incredible parent volunteers both in and outside of the medical field! Each child brought a beloved stuffed animal friend to the “doctor” to make sure they were happy and healthy.
The adventure began at check-in, where each stuffy received a medical chart before heading to the nurse’s station for height and weight measurements. Next, our little patients visited the doctor for reflex checks, bone exams, and even x-rays! They then had their blood pressure and temperature checked before stopping by the ophthalmologist for a vision screening.
The check-up continued with listening to hearts and lungs, treating boo-boos with bandages, getting casts placed, and finishing with a visit to the dentist to make sure every teddy bear smile was sparkling clean!
The goal of our Teddy Bear Clinic is to help children feel comfortable and confident around medical professionals and doctor visits. Through imaginative play and hands-on experiences with their stuffed animals, children are able to explore medical procedures in a safe, positive, and familiar environment. Research and child-life programs have shown that Teddy Bear Clinics can help reduce fear and anxiety surrounding doctor visits while building trust and confidence in healthcare experiences.
We are so grateful to our amazing parent volunteers for dedicating their morning to creating such meaningful memories for our children and for showing them how kind, caring, and even fun a visit to the doctor can be!

Another exciting day at C2S as the Bernards Township Police Department visited our school as part of our Who Are the People in Your Neighborhood? curricular theme!
Creating positive interactions between police officers and our Scholars helps children see police officers as trusted helpers and caring community members rather than someone to fear. Positive community experiences like these help build trust, confidence, and understanding from an early age.
Our Scholars had an unforgettable experience learning about parking lot safety, the importance of wearing helmets and protective gear, memorizing phone numbers and home addresses, and understanding when it is appropriate to call 911. The children were especially excited to sit inside the police cruiser, explore the equipment officers use to help keep our community safe, and officially become “Junior Officers” for the day!
Hands-on experiences like these help children make meaningful real-world connections while building safety awareness, confidence, and respect for the important helpers in our community. We are incredibly grateful to the officers of the Bernards Township Police Department for taking the time to visit our school, answer questions, and create such a fun, engaging, and memorable learning experience for our children!

Our C2S team had so much fun connecting with current and alumni families while celebrating our amazing community together. From colorful face painting to decorating cheerful pinwheels, our booth was filled with smiles, laughter, creativity, and so many familiar faces!
One of the most special parts of the day was seeing our alumni students return to say hello and hearing about all of the wonderful things they are doing. Watching our C2S community continue to grow long after preschool is truly the greatest gift.

Today, we were incredibly honored and excited to welcome Mayor McCarthy of Basking Ridge as a very special guest reader in our classroom! Our Scholars were thrilled to enjoy story time with the Mayor and had the wonderful opportunity to ask questions and learn more about her role in our community.
Experiences like this bring our curriculum to life by helping children make meaningful real-world connections. Meeting community leaders in person allows our students to see the people behind important titles and understand that they are caring, approachable individuals who help make our town such a special place to live and learn.
Mayor McCarthy’s warmth, kindness, and engaging storytelling created a memorable experience for our children that encouraged curiosity, confidence, and community awareness. We are so grateful for the time she spent with us and for the joy and excitement she brought to our school today!
